The Pines

Sanctuary Cove- The Pines (Exclusive access for Global Golf clients)

As Australia’s only Arnold Palmer signature course, The Pines is recognized as one of Australia’s best and most challenging courses. Carved through 101 hectares of established pine forest, the course features corridor approaches to several holes, with lakes guarding others. Fourteen of the holes are contoured around six man-made lakes. An abundance of wildlife features on The Pines including rare bird life and scores of native Australian kangaroos. With a course rating of 74 off the black tees and 72 off the blue tees the course offers a very special golfing experience.

The Palms

Sanctuary Cove - The Palms

The Palms has recently undergone an $8.8 million reconstruction and was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ross Watson. After its reopening in April 2011, The Palms is considered a championship test rivalling some of the best courses in Australia. It has a total length of 5904 metres off the championship tees, and has numerous water features and hazards. Tee placements have been designed to suit
a variety of playing conditions and a diverse range of players. Nestled within century old Cabbage Palms, The Palms is a return to the traditions of the game, with
distinctive holes, deep greenside bunkers and boldly contoured greens requiring creative shot making.

The Palms

Lakelands

One of several courses built during the Japanese golf course development frenzy on the Gold Coast in the late eighties and early nineties Lakelands has emerged as one of the best. The par threes offer great variety, from the 133 meter 14th through to the demanding 210 metre 17th. The 14th is one of the prettiest holes in the region and although from the forward tees it is only a wedge or 9 iron it still requires precision to avoid water to the front and left of a green which angles from front right to back left.

Hope Island

Links at Hope Island

Hope Island boasts 5-Star facilities and consistent rankings as one of Australia’s top ten resort courses. Your day will involve some careful strategic thinking while you make your way around the Par 72 course, avoiding the natural and man-made hazards and the 128 challenging pot style bunkers. Heading home after a fantastic day, the signature Par 3 – Hole 17 – is a challenge for any golfer and is an experience in courage or folly. At 230m off the black tees and 180m off the whites, most players cannot reach the green due to the prevailing head wind. So one must consider playing this par four rather than a par three, but then again, you decide!

The Glades

The Glades

The Glades boasts a reputation as one of Australia’s most prestigious resort golf courses. Designed by champion Australian golfing icon, Greg Norman, the course is typical of his trademark aggressive layouts offering golfers a challenging round of golf within visually stunning surrounds. The Glades is a par 72, 7264 metre championship course that spans 65 hectares of land. Greg Norman is renowned for his bunkering worldwide and the Glades does not disappoint with a total of 98 bunkers. Greg not only had a vision to create a challenging golf course on the Gold Coast, but he also retained 9 hectares of wetland area to create a natural wildlife sanctuary within the course.
