Killeen Hotel

Killeen House Hotel, Killarney

In 1992 Michael and Geraldine Rosney purchased Killeen House. A charming little hotel describes the style and character of this unique facility set in acres of beautifully manicured gardens. Originally built in 1838 as Archdeacon Nathaniel P. Forester's rectory, it was entirely renovated in 1991. It now enjoys the charm and elegance of the early 19th Century hand-in-hand with the comfort and convenience at the late 20th Century. The hotel has recently undergone another major renovation program.

Killeen House comprises 23 ensuite bedrooms (8 of which are Deluxe or "Championship"). The Pub in the Killeen House is truly a unique spot. It has been described as the 'Hub of the Golfing Universe' - probably because it's the only place in the Universe that accepts Golf Balls as Legal Tender! Hence the thousands of balls that adorn its walls.

The Killeen House, surrounded by acres of beautifully mature gardens, is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Killarney. Killarney's surrounds are truly beautiful and, apart from Dublin, it is Ireland's most visited city. It's very central to the region's great golf  courses. Ballybunion is the longest drive (an hour each way) but this is offset by the fact you will be able to unpack and unwind over several nights in this lovely place.
