Kalos Golf basically invented a new travel concept in 1994, the golf cruise. Chartering the Sea Cloud family of ships, Kalos began stylishly transporting golfers to the top courses in Europe. They built a special niche in the cruise market by providing small, exclusive golf and travel experiences for seasoned travellers. It was the “little things that make a difference”, as one travel writer put it, that elevated the first cruises along the Danube River from “first class” to “trip of a lifetime” status. Kalos Golf cruises combine the best of European (and now South Pacific) golf and touring with the relaxation of sailing on small luxurious vessels. Unlike companies that fill their ships with hundreds of passengers, Kalos Golf charters five-star vessels that accommodate no more than 90 guests. In essence, these ships become a private club, providing the perfect atmosphere for an intimate travel experience.
Kalos charters each ship for their sole use. This means that every passenger is a Kalos client and the only focus is their complete satisfaction. Every cruise is pretty much “fully inclusive” (accommodation, transport - excluding international flights - all meals, drinks at dinner and all golf or excursions) and service is of a 5 star standard. Kalos does very limited advertising, does not use travel agents and relies almost exclusively on word of mouth and repeat business to fill their cruises. Many clients have been on 3 or more Kalos cruises and the most popular or newest itineraries often sell out more than a year in advance.
Many cruises offer considerable flexibility regarding the amount of golf to be played. Passengers can choose from “Full Golf”, “Light Golf” or “Touring Only” options. This is perfect for couples where 1 of the partners is a non-golfer or, at least, not as enthusiastic as the other. Travelling with Kalos Golf means never having to worry about your bag. Kalos staff wait at every course with your clubs prepared on a cart and the practice area cleared for your arrival. And don't worry about the pairings. Kalos take requests or will pair you with new friends who share your skill level and enthusiasm for the game.
